Self-Biography:

My artistic journey began in my early childhood. When I was four years old, I discovered my ability of playing any tune I heard on TV or the radio on my grandmother’s piano, a gift from her, when I was born. The piano, crafted in the Soviet Union, ”Belarus” – the brown woody one, was a testament to my upbringing in the small western part town of Zestaphoni, Georgia. Growing up in the post-Soviet era, I felt compelled to explore my unique talents, spending 17 years in a society that seemed closed and conservative, making it difficult to build the lasting friendships. I spent my young age separated from the society I was living in. Growing up without much digital stuff, (I was born in 90’s) I was a huge fan of old-fashioned magazines, (bought by my family during Soviet Union restrictions as ”black material” from third party illegal Jewish re-sellers) scientific journals, and art catalogs that my family had.

When I started painting school locally in Zestaphoni, I really honed my understanding of styles, typography, and composition. That was my second art institute, though. Before even starting elementary school, my mom took me to the Musical School, where I got to work with musical sheets and notes even before I started writing in Georgian.

It wasn’t always easy, the teachers were really working hard to teach me about tempo, 2/4, 4/4 and so on, but they did a great job in the end. Graphic Design, Photography, and Music are just part of who I am. After high school, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in Oriental Sciences, focusing on Arabic language and history. A few years later, I reconnected with my passion for music, starting to compose the songs I’d created as a child and adding new pieces. I then registered as a self-labeled artist and shared my work on popular music streaming platforms like Spotify, Deezer, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Tidal, and others. My Stage name is Lukián. My famous instrumental pieces are “Sunflowers”, “Looking Forward”, “Dots”, “Dystopia”, “Childhood Stories”.

Right now, I’m in Germany, where I’m completing my master’s degree in Design Leadership. I’m also eager to explore the country’s standards in Graphic Design and the art world.
